Hay fever is a big problem that has been increasing in recent years in Japan. Many Japanese Cedar trees were planted after the Second World War for wood for building but the trees were never cut down. Japan started to get cheaper wood from other countries, such as the Philippines. Now the trees have grown and are producing lots of pollen in the spring.
