In Japan people often say ‘ a cabin attendant or CA’ for peoople working on airplanes but…

…in English we say ” a flight attendant.”
*Some people understand that ‘cabin attendant’ means ‘flight attendant’. Many people do not understand the meaning of ‘cabin attendant’ though. They might think it is someone who looks after a cabin – a cabin on a ship or a cabin in the mountains for example, like the one Maria is in front of.
*If you are on an airplane you will probably hear the word ‘cabin crew’. That means the team of flight attendants.
*The word ‘attendant’ means someone who stays in a particular place to help visitors or customers do something.
Example – a car-park attendant, an attendant at a petrol station
