A suit. Two suits.

This posting is designed to show the difference in pronunciation between singular and plural words in English which differs from the katakana pronunciation for many words. In this posting we’ve picked up words that in katakana English sound like the plural version of the words in English. For example スーツ pronounced ‛suits’ is the katakana word for ‛suit’. Thinking about the English word ‛fruit’ it is almost always uncountable so the word ‛fruits’ is not often used. However the katakana pronunciation of ‛fruit’ is フルーツ which sounds like ‛fruits’.
